Please accompany us on this virtual trip to Turkey and experience a country which has been shaped and moulded by some thousand years of history.
Alaturka offers the most effective way to communicate with a couple of some thousands of residents all over Turkey and millions of tourists from all over the world.
Welcome in our picture gallery, which has taken much longer to be progressed then we expected.
We want to present a picture of modern Turkey and its inhabitants by a wide range of colorful pictures. If you wish to give any comments or statements, welcome to us.
Long and lonely beaches have made it possible to introduce horse riding as a tourist attraction and it is becoming more and more popular. Lots of people, especially young girls, like horse riding very much and which of them does not like the adventure of riding a horse along the beach, across rivers or along small paths in the pine forest. Today you will find stables at the big hotels offering all sorts of activities -riding, jumping or guided tours into the mountain areas or along the beach.
You should always be a little careful when looking for one of these stables. There are really good ones which offer clean stables, healthy, clean horses and well trained staff. But there are others as well. Please look carefully before deciding. Prices vary greatly as well. All these things are very important, especially when you are learning. Also, everybody will tell you about his/her qualifications, but only a few can actually show certificates to you. Ask to see them before you agree to take lessons.
There are many different options available to you. As a skilled rider you may take a guided tour into the mountains. Lovely, peaceful places, wonderful mountain views, rivers and creeks will be seen along the way, with the chance for barbecues and drinks. Then, after 6 hours of riding, it's back home again.
These trips would not be suitable for children or beginners. They can take a trip along the beach, maybe to funny as well as nice spots.
Trips can be for a couple of hours or for a complete day. If all this is too long and too expensive, an hour of riding at the stables could be enough. There may be other possibilities on the farm. Children enjoy playing with animals, whether it be goats, donkeys, or anything else. It doesn?t matter, it is just enjoyable spending time together.
So enjoy your day at the stables.
OPTICIAN
Because of the health reforms in different European countries leading to increasing prices, lots of travellers to Turkey now use the services of the many excellent opticians here. Apart from their excellent qualifications and the highly technological equipment in their shops, it is the price which makes it so interesting for customers to get their new glasses and/or lens, have repairs done on their old ones or buy extra sets of exclusive famous names here. Your eyes are important protect them.
Service is the magic word. In Europe, staffing costs are high. Money spent on wages in Turkey is very low. So, service became the main advantage for the Turkish optician over their European competitors. Most of the European health insurance companies have already got to know about this and show that they are willing to cover the costs of the bills when you buy new glasses here, because it means they save money as well. Discuss this with your health insurance provider.
Prescriptions for glasses written by European opticians are not yet accepted in Turkey. The easiest way to avoid any problems is to talk to your insurance provider before coming to Turkey and ask if they will pay the reduced costs for glasses from here. Make sure you get this in writing from your insurance company. After returning home, you should then get your costs back.
Quality and material of the glasses, the lens and the polishing of the glasses is of a high professional standard. Just as in Europe, it is done by computerised CNC-polish automats. Of course, even here there are differences in the professionalism of opticians. It is always better to look for a professional, well-equipped shop and to compare prices, staffing and the quality of the shop before you decide where to have it done. There is no need to worry, there are many opticians here.
